[Testo disponibile solo in inglese] In this improvised sound performance piece, Aelyps M will combine several techniques in order to create a concentrated atmosphere through small non-musical sonic events brought about by found objects and a selection of partly modified instruments, microphones connected to effects units and a mixer. Within this context, sonic properties and artefacts, controlled audio feedback and the acoustic response of the room will be explored in an improvised attempt to arrange these elements as a vaguely musical and rather bleak sound experience. In order to develop the piece on the fly, he might use the sound system of the performance venue in ways that may be unconventional but not harmful to the audience or equipment itself. The volume level can range from near-silent to fairly loud. Except for the above outline, there will be very few or no further preconceived ideas, in order to allow the music to take its shape in-situ. The visuals for this performance are generated in a similar way -- real-time input of audio triggers video synthesizer, software glitches and visual feedback loops.

Durata (minuti)

20-45min

Ciò che è necessario

Audio:
Aelyps M would need a medium-sized table, one or more powerstrips with a total of at least 10 outlets and a small mixer (8 channels is sufficient, preferable with onboard effects but not a must) which connects a stereo signal to the venue’s PA. The rest of the gear is self-contained but it needs approx 45 minutes to set up, which can be done backstage near a mains socket. In this case a line check can be done via headphones and the table would be carried to the stage shortly before the performance.

Visual:
1 to 3 projectors with HDMI connector, record out or monitor link from mixing device, a small space on the table/separate table for a notebook and a small controller (20*30cm).
