STM
[Testo disponibile solo in inglese] STM~ is a collaborative research project inspired by wave–particle duality. Two live performing artists use digital sound production and particle trace simulation through interconnected data-systems to create a unique synesthetic experience.

STM~ is an audiovisual unison, indivisible elements that shape a sculpture of space-time and result in a sensory experience. It is an indeterminate journey with its own natural laws and principles unfolding before the eyes of the spectator. The laws that influence both the particles and the sound are created by the artists, but they include randomness. Eventually the performance results in an exploration of the artists’ own a priori.

BIO:
Luis Sanz, Multimedia artist based in Bern, Switzerland, Sanz’s works take on multiple forms such as audiovisual performances, installation and generative art. He draws inspiration from geometry, surrealism, nature, abstraction, architecture and futurism. He experiments with sound, generative graphics and leads those experiments into the field of digital arts.

Niculin Barandun, post-industrial maker based in Basel, Switzerland, crafts processes in the fields of art, technology and design. Fascinated by the vast vernacular of nature, contemporary art and science, he seeks to capture the indeterminate in a minimalistic way.

Ciò che è necessario

VIDEO
2 Full-HD projector connected through a single cable via HDMI, DVI or VGA ending on the workspace
Each projector needs to have at least 5000 ANSI lumens. They need to be mounted in a height of the upper third of the screen and as far from the screen as possible with the projected image starting on the head of the performers. Projected screen | wall needs to be free of obstructions.
Minimum projection height 4m, Aspect Ratio 32:9, resolution 2 Full-HD projector 3840x1080

AUDIO
The PA system needs to be stereo, positioned left and right to the screen (outside of the video-projection)
Two or more separate subwoofers are required for the low-end depending on the room. Low frequency response (20-150 Hz). We bring a small audio-interface that outputs L | R, all on Jack. http://global.focusrite.com/firewire-audio-interfaces/saffire-pro-24-dsp) 2 monitor speaker, with separate amplifier and separate volume control

LIGHT
STM~ needs an entirely darkened performance room. All lights need to be turned off during the show.

WORKSPACE
A table has to be located ca 1m in front of the screen | wall and should have the width of 3m, a
height and a depth of 1m
Please put our table and the screen on a stable 0,4 - 1m high stage to reduce shadows caused by the audience.
To allow a good contact between the performers and the audience, the distance between the two should not be too big.
No other equipment beside STM~ performance’s is allowed to be on the stage and table during the show.
6 x 13 amp 220-240v power supply

SOUND | VIDEO-CHECK
STM~ requires 60 minutes to set up and check sound and video after stage and projection is set up according to this tech rider. In case the screen | projector setting or stage details need to be adjusted, this one hour starts after all adjustments have been made!

BACKSTAGE
A lockable place needs to be available for our equipment before the soundcheck and after the concert. The promoter has full responsibility for the safety of the artists and their equipment between set up and departure from the concert venue.
