From the water of Musique pour les Poissons to the air of The Boy Who Believed He Could Fly, through the earth of 200.000.000 Steps, the electronic duo is now ready to close the circle with the fourth and final chapter.
Fire was probably the original screen.
At first, Homo Erectus was afraid of it, as were most animals, after all. But around 1.5 million years ago, he began to make peace with it. It must have been an incredible revolution at the time.
He would no longer stumble over rocks in the cave when coming home at night, injuring his little toe; he could now roast a mammoth.
He could sit comfortably around it, telling stories and imagining how future humans would one day invent the Zippo lighter. He could even stare at it alone, thinking, asking it what to do next.
Beautiful like the sun and made of the same substance, fire was the screen of those times.
Not that you could roast a mammoth on a screen, but in other ways, it’s certainly the ancestor of all entertainment.
Brother Fire is meant to be listened to in front of a fire (a gas stove or barbecue will do), looking for an answer within it.
